Honestly, you see boredom; it has a way of making ordinary days feel like they are stretching endlessly, and when it happens, our mind starts searching for literally anything that feels different from our regular. Occasionally these different things we do turn into a decision that we spend days and weeks or even months regretting, wishing we could take it back.

My worst case of boredom happened during a short holiday. Everybody seemed to be occupied with their lives doing one thing or the other, but I was stuck in the house bored out of my mind; it just seemed as if time wasn't moving. At first I was enjoying the quietness. I will watch a movie, eat food, scroll on my phone, and convince myself that I honestly deserve a break. But after a few weeks, that peace turned to restlessness. You know how it feels when you scroll on TikTok all day, watch almost every movie on your phone, and you still feel empty. That's how I was feeling.Immediately it seemed as if boredom was beginning to whisper ideas in my head.

I picked up my phone and started calling people,i stopped calling a long while ago because their lifestyle doesn't align with mine. Furthermore, I started replying to every text message from people I would rather not talk to. It's not because I missed them but because I just wanted to have someone to talk to. I visited some people who had invited me on several occasions, and I turned it down. I try to be happy; I laughed at every dry joke. Before I knew it, I was giving out energy that was even foreign to me. So one of these days my friends suggested we hang out together like a girls outing.

I agreed without thinking twice about my decision. Normally I would have made sure it was strictly girls; I would have found out where we were going, what we would be doing there, and how long we were going to stay, but that day I didn't even care. I just wanted to leave the house, certainly, something to break the surrounding quietness. Looking back, I know clearly boredom made the decision for me.

At first everything was moving smoothly, just laughter and conversation. But the problem started when someone recommended truth or dare; that's when the vibe shifted and people started doing most of the things I like to avoid. Well, I later joined them because I would rather not be the joy killer, and I wouldn't want to be called a jew girl. I never think it would affect me, and I can handle whatever follows next, but I was entirely wrong. I refused to answer most of the questions; I just drank a lot to avoid questions.

My body started reacting. I felt dizzy and weak, and I found myself dancing on top of the table. Not long after, I started vomiting, and my stomach ached badly. I was scared, afraid of what might happen to me before I would say Jack everywhere, blur. I was rushed to the hospital. I woke up confused and exhausted, as if I did a bricklayer job, and wondering how I ended up there. Besides, I wondered how something that was just boredom turned into a frightening situation.it was food poison with the alcohol together.

Since then, whenever am bored. I just take an evening stroll or listen to music. Invite my nieces and nephews around. Go watch people that dance inside my estate or people playing football.
