Hello dear Steemians and photography enthusiast,
Today I want to share with you my wednesday walk that I did on my first day spent in the Pyrenees. We arrived close to the town Camprodon several days ago and I wanted to test if I was able to wear my hiking boots. Some days before I did hurt my ankle a bit while longboarding and my ankle did still hurt a little.
So I thought to combine the test with a little photo tour. Although the landscape was gorgeous I didn't expect to get too many shots for a wednesday walk, because we parked directly at the street and there was only one hiking trail. I couldn't have been more wrong! Just after following the hiking trail for a few meters, there was a big meadow with thousand of different insect and nice flowers so I had a lot to shoot.
As I walked through the grass, I first noticed that there was a lot of movement in front of my feet every time I would take a step forward. There were grasshoppers literally everywhere. I stopped and it only took me seconds to find one that was sitting on some kind of dried blossom.
After a few meters, I found an interesting flower. It has a purple blossom and when the blossom is not yet fully developed it kind of looks like an eye of an insect. When I tried to take a shot of the flower, a bee landed on the blossom.
Since the start from the parking I was always walking uphill. Now the small path through the grass turned left and the rise of it got less. To my right, further up the hill there was an interesting tree standing in a big field of fern.
To my left in the grass, there were some tall flowers with many white small blossoms. A small black and yellow insect was feeding on one of the blossoms. I always call them fake wasps but don't know the actual name.
As I was walking or taking photos, there were butterflys flying by constantly. From time to time I got up and tried to photograph them in midair but they were always to fast for me and my camera... So I focused on less fast moving things. After walking a bit further, I discovered an abandoned house in between some trees. I felt it had some kind of property that made me really curious about it. I don't know why, but I imagined how it would look from the inside. Unfortunately, the only way towards the house was through a field of stinging-nettle and I was wearing shorts. So I abandoned the thought of exploring it, just as the former owner abandoned it at some point.
I thought about it was time to go back to the van so I turned around and started the descend. On the way back I discovered a mysterious hole between some of the trees to my left. I was curious to check out what's on the other side.
As I walked through, it got relatively dark, because the trees were really close to each other, covering the sky completely. On the other side I found some really beautiful flowers with some wrinkled blossom leafs. Here I took the two photos I like the most of this #wednesdaywalk.
I was really satisfied with all the photos I took and retured to the path back to the parking. Just before I had to cross the street to get back to the van, I got lucky once more. Some of the butterflys that had been so shy before were just sitting at the wayside and didn't mind me at all. So I took several shots of one and even got a photo of a butterfly flying next to me. It had yellow and bright green wings.
I'm sorry I don't know the name of all these different flowers and insects, if you do, please let me know in the comments!
Hope you enjoyed my entry for the wednesday walk,
if you did please let me know in the comments :)
Have a good week and see you next wednesday!
