I see a bright brown monkey sitting alone on a thick tree branch. The fur is thick fluffy like a fine warm coat. An arm is wrapped around its body, and the other rests gently on its leg. A calm worried face with stern dark eyes looking straight ahead. The forest is like a blurry oblivion. The focus is on the lonely curious gibbon. Who is quietly contemplative of life.
The picture depicts a quiet, calm and reflective lonely moments. The gibbon’s posture reminds me of someone taking a quiet moment to think about events, people or spoken words. It could be grief, fear or anxiety. In it is a thin line with still solidarity of hope, patience and healing. That even in a noisy chaotic world, a quiet place can be found or created.
The Kai's story of "Love Is waiting, hoping and coping"
In small Govobon forest where many animals lived. There was a unique family oriented creature named Kai.
He woke up one morning to see no one.
He paced and jumped across the trees, swinging fast as he could hoping to find them. He didn’t.
He became tired and sat on a thick branch to catch his breath and ponder where Lumai had gone. Lumai was his mate.
His joyful demeanor and vigour was slowly replaced with longing, gloomy loneliness.
From the treetop, he stared out.
The forest became his cinema.
The Birds sung and monkeys played chase. Leaves danced on the trees but none was like his "lumai"
He couldn’t eat the fruits alone.
So he waited patiently with saddened and darkened eyes on the trees and ground.
The other animals went about their activities.
Kai only had his family in his head.
Then... suddenly.
Lumai jumped in with lots of fruits.
Kai’s eyes lit up. His arms opened.
His fur stood on his ends
and he started singing:
"My home is with you, my dear Lumai."
The thick branch on the tree is my quiet place but with you, it is a safe space.
Because love is waiting and staying to share together.
Love is hoping and coping.
