Although they later claimed to have showed up to separate us from the militia types that had wandered down to the protest early on Derby day, this shot shows what they seemed to be most interested in protecting. By the time they formed up their line the militia types were already a block away, heading back home (we'd met and separated already before the police even put in an appearance). Call me paranoid or hungry but I think Jimmy John's was all LMPD was worried about that day (it was about lunchtime, under other circumstances I'd almost understand) and so far they have declined to comment otherwise...
