The Kentucky State Fair is in full swing here in Louisville and I got to spend several hours there shooting yesterday. It was a lovely August day, 90F (32C) with lots of sun and humidity to make sure nobody was got cold.
So much to see and shoot, from a petting zoo with biting animals to a World War II light tank and everything in between.
I don't know what that is in the photo above but I want one. Think I'll call'em wheeliechairs until something better comes along.
There were some giant pumpkins, as well as a bunch of trumpkins.
Haven't seen that much Blue Lives Matter and flag paraphernalia since the Oath Keepers and Three Percenters left town. Come to think of it, I ain't seen a Humvee since they left town either.
Part carnival, part flea market, part live infomercial, the state fair offered a wide range of entertainments and subjects to shoot.
Took several hundred photos while I was at the fair, just sorting through them all has been a bit of a task. The fair runs until the end of this week so I'm going to try and make it back at least one more time.
No post about the fair would be complete without mentioning the food. You could eat every meal there each day of the fair and still not try everything.

If that wasn't enough to make you hungry there were also the entries in the culinary competitions to look at (no free samples though).
Jams and jellies, biscuits, cookies, cakes and pies, along with just about anything you could think of to pickle filled display case after display case, taunting you with their tastiness.
On a personal note, I got to see one of my photos (below) had won second place in the photography competition, first time I've won anything in one that wasn't on here.
