Can anyone explain to me why yards and grassy lawns are still a thing? Does anybody actually enjoy the damn things? I was mowing earlier this week and it seemed to be an exercise in futility, cutting the grass just so I can do the same thing again next week. For as little as they get used it sure does require an awful lot of effort and attention.
Why have boring old grass when you could have flowers? All these photos are from playing in the yard with a macro lens. The black-eyed susans and the purple coneflower are all in bloom right now and the bugs and bees are loving it. They weren't as fond of me, I kept interfering with their supper.
It's been hot and rainy around here lately so I haven't been inclined to wander too far. I don't know about y'all but I'm already starting to miss the lockdown, there is altogether too many people out and about these days. Most of'em seem to be either pissed off or about half crazy, I'm about half hoping this Delta variant sends them scurrying back to their lairs.
Here in a bit there's a free concert in Waterfront Park down by the Ohio River, I'm going mosey down and see if concerts have changed as much as everything else. I've been itching to shoot people for a bit, if nothing else it should be good for that 馃槑
