Talk about dressing for the party, whoever this is certainly did. Considering what happened a little later that (Wednesday) night, it definitely wasn't a bad idea. Things have calmed down here slightly, last night was our first night without a curfew since last Tuesday. It's more of a pause for everyone to catch their breath rather than any real calming of tensions, the police still have downtown barricaded and nothing has really changed aside from the curfew.
It's weird, since the barricades went up it has been deserted in downtown, more so even than at the height of the lockdown for the pandemic. Throw in a bunch of boarded up windows and the ghost town vibe is complete. With no resolution in sight I'm afraid this is going to be the new normal for the foreseeable future, I'm going to have to do some sort of post-apocalyptic photo shoot down there while I have the chance.
