Well, to live's to fly
All low and high
So shake the dust off of your wings
And the sleep out of your eyes
Been getting that feeling again, that hankering to be elsewhere, shooting something I ain't seen before. Can ignore it for a bit but eventually nothing else will do.
Think I've reached that point, got Townes Van Zandt's 'To Live Is To Fly' on repeat and I'm plotting my next jaunt in Red River Gorge. Finally got some proper maps, so now there's even more arches I need to see.
It's goodbye to all my friends
It's time to go again
Think of all the poetry
And the pickin' down the line
Give it 48 hours and I'll be back in the land of no signal but before that happens I thought I should probably edit a few from my earlier visits. Always good to look at all the 'meh' shots, a nice refresher on what not to attempt.
Well I may be gone
But it won't be long
I'll be a-bringin' back the melody
And rhythm that I find
Can't carry a tune in a bucket so I don't know how much melody I'll be bringing back but I will have some photos. Going to check out what my map describes as the 'big sky' section of the gorge. Having been to Montana I have my doubts about it fully living up to that but it should be interesting to see nonetheless.
Everything is not enough
And nothin' is too much to bear
Where you been is good and gone
All you keep's the getting there
On that note I should probably start gathering my gear if I'm to be getting there. Lyrics are all by Townes Van Zandt, in no particular order. Anybody else got a song for getting on down the line?
