Bird photography gives me satisfaction because it always enables me to wait and sit until the "pose" of the birds is just the way I want it. It´s always a great pleasure playing with lights and shadows and under- or overexposing to really get full attention on the birds. I wouldn´t consider myself a birder, but I can spend quite some time watching these graceful creatures. They do freak me out, some of them as I woulnd´t consider them as pretty, even quite ugly. But they are still the last dinosaurs on earth, so maybe that´s what makes them a bit freaky... :)
The variety of colours of birds is limitless. Only underwater when snorkling or diving have I seen this kind of colourful display of feathers.
With some birds, you can feel the tension, the attention with which they observe their surroundings. I am always especially amazed by the sheer power combined with gracefullness of eagles. It´s fascinating to watch.
