Out of eight topics given at the Week 142 of Weekend-Engagement, I choose this one:

Got to die somehow: Would you rather...
Assuming you had to choose between the following three ways of dying...Would you rather get eaten by a shark, fall out of a plane without a parachute, or trampled by a herd of elephants? Explain your answer in a post of at least 300 words

For whatever reason, if I will die and was given three options between being eaten by a shark, fall out of a plane without a parachute, or trampling by a herd of elephants, I will choose the second one.

When I was a child, I thought that superpowers were real. I remember watching superman on our tv screen and believing that some humans are lucky to possess the ability to fly. My parents would always tell me to eat and sleep a lot so I can be strong enough to levitate and be like Superman. How naive and innocent I am for believing those good lies.

Look how innocent my smile is.

Growing up, curiosity still lingers around me as to how it feels like to fly and wander around the spacious sky. Actually, I envy the birds for having wings, fluttering, and riding the strong winds. Can I please be a bird for at least a day? Should I work on my own wings and jump on the top of the building to test it out?

My fondness for flying might be the reason why would I choose falling out of a plane without a parachute as my option to die. Probably this is the closest experience I can get to flying. The only difference is I can’t stay too long floating as gravity pulls me towards the ground.

Another thing is, falling on a plane without a parachute will give you an adrenaline rush. The feeling of excitement toward your death might be weird and suicidal but at least you're positive about it 😆. Being eaten by a shark and trampled by elephants would be horrifying because the human instinct to survive might still kick in and you will struggle to fight for your life. While falling on the plane will give you no other choice but to face it.

During the course of my free fall, I would do silly things that I usually see in the movies. Like the superman pose and pretend that I can change direction. I can also lean downward so I can accelerate my going down speed. Or imagine that I am fighting my opponents. Or maybe pretend that I am in crisis because I forgot my parachute. Wait, that’s actually the case…

Imagine that it would be epic because I scream in joy while falling to my death. People will tell me that I am crazy. But they don’t know that this is probably the best and last day of my life. Why would I choose to cry and waste my time bidding farewell to this cruel world if I can just dedicate that moment to myself; to feel alive?

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, literally. If I will have the chance to choose the way of my death, I will ensure that it will be worth it until my last breath.
