I haven't had a real update on my personal spiritual path for a while, so today I thought it would be good to get into that. For any of you that weren't around for the old posts, I'll briefly recap: August 2016 most of the state of Louisiana went underwater, it was a great opportunity to get rid of a bunch of possessions that were just kind of taking up space, I went through the whole heartbreak thing, and then I awakened spiritually and spent several months documenting that process. I have covered and written about many topics along the way and today I want to talk about the concept of insanity again.
In my experience, it's usually easier to identify and break cycles of insanity by looking at them with additional perspective. I had the option to move in with my parents after the flood and I went that route for convenience. I left my job and went all in on the crypto world, which was probably one of the best things that could have happened for me personally. There was also the thought in my mind that I would be able to fix some toxic family relationships in this process, but looking at things now after several more months of no progress in that direction, I've just had to accept things for what they are and realize that they aren't changing.
My parents never really acted like they accepted me at any point in my life unless I was just doing what they told me to do. I've accepted that and it rarely bothers me anymore, but perhaps I've still been thinking at some point that they would bend. The truth that I've found is that sometimes you just have to call a spade a spade and cut ties. My family is, from my perspective, toxic and abusive. Even if I have enough self worth to not take the things they say and do personally, by staying in their lives I'm essentially giving consent to allow them to blame me for their problems or use me as their outlet for all of their negative energy. They may be in an insane cycle of doing the same shit over and over again, but I'm just as responsible if I'm allowing it.
I've been working on building up my crypto portfolio and I could probably be earning more aggressively, but I really do believe in the ability to shape steemit into something that changes many people's lives financially. It's already helped change many of our lives, after all, I have been able to support myself financially off steemit income and investment for nine months now. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing in the near future, but I do still plan to put as much time into steemit and community building as possible. I often tell people that the only way not to be insane is to be a crazy. It's all about balance and wholeness from my perspective. Whatever the future holds, I'm ready. Namaste.
