Time for a little writing on a subject closer to my heart
The illusion of self
Your thoughts, your prison
Rene Descartes, a celebrated philosopher from France famously wrote “I think, therefore I am” setting the tone for modern philosophy. The acceptance and love for this work, I would regard as proof of the starting in a downfall of consciousness and classic philosophy in the western world. Suffering with it is critical thinking, making faith in science grow. Science will never do anything but to measure, model, predict and lastly call it a theory until new inputs makes the model fail. This applies to big bang theory and evolution as well.
I am sure that you, as many others do, identify yourself with the thoughts constantly circulating your mind, and what they say about you. The theater we play, with our ego as main characters, has become so real. The mask we once put on has become our very skin, a veil between the illusion of self and true consciousness. So it is only natural to be drawn to philosophies like these.
The society and the social game of furthering the ego´s agenda might have you feel like
you are simply the result of everything you have been through in this earthly life and that your thoughts are hard coded in your neurons, rendering your a powerless victim to biology.
To change your perception about yourself and in order to love yourself you need to buy beautiful things or have your personality confirmed by others.
You need a therapist to tell you what you think or what to think instead, along with what it means.
You silence your thoughts by constantly working, learning or training, until you have all the knowledge you can burden, all the money and power work will ever bring you and all the beauty fitness can give.
Of Course none of this is real, but will it even satisfy the needs that you have worked so hard to extinguish?
You can eat away hunger, it will soon come back. You can buy a fancy car, it will soon look gloom.
You can workout and stay in shape, your body it still will die.
Your needs are like the wind, gone as soon as they satisfy, leaving nothing but empty matter, knowledge or muscle in your way, manifested greed, worthless.
You are in an endless cycle of fulfilling every need and chasing every thrill whilst calculating the path of least pain or resistance.
The world it surely doesn't help either, with all its problems of terror, collapsing economies,
disease, war and prophecies of doom. Why should you stop eating meat to save others when its to late or why should´t animals suffer for your taste buds? Why should you stop consuming for the sake of environment when it's all ready dead, why should not others work to death for your entertainment?
A comet surely will end everything if we don´t ourselves!
Maybe you don't even know what is happening, maybe you are not seeing outside your self or feeling connected to anything any longer and trust me i know, it's not easy, but madness or awakening is the only way out.
Let me tell you one thing thou, it's not the world or others you fear, it's yourself and what your thoughts might say to you.
They say that you are just a victim to weak to even try, or simply already good enough to even bother.
They say that you are just one person and thereby you can't change anything.
You are one, but not alone, you are the illusion itself. You, by the power of simply believing can change everything, instantly. Your powers are limitless when it comes to creating and believing in love and once you do the world will be painted in it.
This, which I am trying to point at, is the complete opposite of modern philosophy, in which we create our thoughts, or where the capacity of thinking surely puts us in center of existence.
Truth be, it is our thoughts and ideas that create us not the other way around, we, or the self, is simply an idea, blocking true consciousness.
Dying and being born is just like to sleep and awake, we constantly change our body once we realize something is new. The experience of continuity is made up of simple rationalizations by our brain and not real at all.
Even science would agree that taking a visual impression along with hearing and emotions, to create the hallucination in our brain, which is reality, takes time. The world we see is simply this hallucination driven by our thoughts and ideas and what comes before our thoughts and ideas science leave out. Outside your thoughts are you, the true you, limitless and infinite, out of pure love, timeless and constant.
You can shape the hallucination i anyway you like, you, the observer creates reality, it is filtered through your thoughts and ideas and collapses into existence as you see it.
Imagine that your mind is an empty field and every thought and idea is a seed planted. The garden that will grow, it will contain trees and plants, one for each thought. Be sure to plant only the seeds you wish to reap,or this garden will become your prison, make it a place of love and light not gloomy and dark.
The way out, will simply enough reveal itself once we stop identifying ourselves with body, thoughts and ideas.
When body and mind once again is just characters in a theater play and your fears disappear along with your thoughts, you will be enlightened, you will be whole.
Learn to let go of your life, don't bind your self to it or to anything else in it, avoiding death by all means only makes you avoid and suppress life it self, the fear works both ways.
The world is perfect and beautiful in all its glory, can you not see His loving work?
You are even more perfect, a marvelous creation with the power to create any vision of reality.
You do not need a therapist to change your thoughts, merely accept that you are free, everything you accept about yourself, you do here and NOW, let go.
You are no victims of biology and neurons carry no power over us, they are simply a part of the outcome of all our collected ideas and thoughts, so love everything.
You and you alone have the power to think whatever you want about the world and yourself here and now, let it be perfection and love.
Only a loving mindset can leave fear behind, find peace in meditation, use the ego for higher purposes and let the illusion go.
A fitting quote to this chapter:
“You have to grow from the inside out.
None can teach you, none can make you spiritual
There is no other teacher but your own soul”
