Today we went to the pre-anesthesia consultation for my little Cesar, you may wonder why? Well I tell you, 1 year ago, Cesar began to present more mucus than "normal" sleeping problems, during the day he was very sleepy, dark circles under his eyes were very accentuated and recurrent headaches.
As for me as a nurse, I thought of everything, could it be neurological, hematologic? and stop counting, for this little head the number of unknowns that arose. When we took him to the pediatrician she suggested to start discarding, starting with ophthalmology, we took him to the consultation and everything was fine, then she suggested a consultation with the otorhinolaryngologist and well, that's where the big problem was.
They did diagnostic tests, audiometry, x-rays, tomography. The result was a hypertrophy of turbinates, tonsils and adenoids with slight hypoacusis (decrease in hearing), reason why due to the degree of hypertrophy, grade 4 (the maximum 🙈). The solution is surgical.
Today we went to the pre-anesthetic assessment.
First he was received by the nurse who took his data, weighed and measured him and assessed his vital signs.
We went to the doctor's office, the doctor was very attentive and friendly, he made Cesar laugh a lot, which is not very common with strangers, at first he is very or too serious hehehehehehe.
With the labs in hand. The doctor proceeded to examine him. He auscultated him and performed a physical and cardiac evaluation, and questioned him about his medical and family history. Everything turned out to be positive and in order to proceed with the surgery that will take place tomorrow.
I swear I am super nervous, but it is an operation that we can not keep postponing with good energy and positive attitude everything will be fine.I will keep you informed of the surgery and post surgery. Thank you for reading me, I send you a big and strong hug. Take care of yourselves. Until next time 🤗♥️
