Beautiful Sewing Friends,

I've been working on multiple curtains and mosquito nets this week!

Now there are sufficient defenses against the biting hoards, I hope!

The challenges were present much of the way through- especially sewing together layers of plasticky netting, which is slippery and doesn't quite catch together so neatly!

This is me, having pinned the two edges of the hem by hanging the curtains in position and lining up the bottom with the floor, then laying the curtain out on the sofa, to find the right level across the whole bottom of the hem. This seems to work well as a technique for hemming... I used to try pinning - and sometimes also sewing! - with the curtain in situ, but that was a darn fiddle!

I love finding solutions, sewing by hand, and appreciating the benefits of a problem resolved 😍😍😍
