The Federal Republic of Nigeria,🇳🇬 Popularly known as the Giant of Africa is situated in the West of Africa and comprises of 36 states and 1 Federal Capital Territory which is Located in Abuja. It is a country blessed with numerous Natural and Agricultural resources.
Today 12th June, is now officially being observed as the new Democracy Day. This bill was passed some months ago by the Senate after it was pronounced by the President. The country had formerly been observing their Democracy Day on May 29th which is now going to be the day of Handing over.
The Democracy Day is being changed by the President in order to honour Late Chief M.K.O Abiola who fought endlessly for the existence of Democracy in the country in June 1993.
So as from today, Nigerian Citizens will now be observing a public holiday nationwide on the 12th of June as it now the new Democracy Day.
