Hello my dear readers 馃槈.....
If you had asked me a few years ago, about some aromatic herbs, well, I could say that I knew very little about them and their benefits and perhaps at that time I would not have been interested in knowing them, much less in cultivating them.
However, after a few months I have been organizing my garden and I have decided to grow my own basil plant, this aromatic herb, which the doctor has recommended me to enjoy and combine in my diet in a fresh way.

Si me hubieran preguntando hace algunos a帽os, sobre algunas hierbas arom谩ticas, pues podr铆a decir, que sab铆a muy poco de est谩s y sus beneficios y quiz谩s para el momento no hubiera, estado interesada en conocerlas y mucho menos en cultivarlas.
Sin embargo tr谩s algunos meses he venido organizando mi jard铆n y he decidido cultivar mi propia planta de albahaca, est谩 hierba arom谩tica, que el m茅dico me ha recomendado disfrutar y combinar en mi alimentaci贸n de forma fresca.
Basil is an herb that not only has aromatic and curative properties, but also culinary properties, making it a versatile plant with an unmistakable and penetrating aroma.
La albahaca es una hierba que no solo tiene propiedades, arom谩ticas y curativas, sino tambi茅n culinarias, por lo cual se convierte en una planta vers谩til, con un aroma inconfundible y penetrante.
This plant is native to tropical climates, it is more than one meter high, has wide, long, oval, dark green leaves, soft to the touch, that sprout from a thin and long stem and through its flower spikes, I have been able to obtain the seeds for a new planting.
Est谩 planta es originaria de climas tropicales, tiene m谩s de un metro de altura, posee unas hojas anchas, largas, ovaladas de color verde oscuro, suaves al tacto, que brotan de un tallo fino y largo y a trav茅s de sus espigas florales, he podido obtener las semillas para una nueva siembra.
馃 How did you grow it?
Using its own seeds, it is my first cultivation, I have sown several in a pot, directly in wet sand at least 5mm deep, placing it in a warm and luminous place, where it receives direct sunlight.
馃 C贸mo la cultiv贸?
Utilizando sus propias semillas, es mi primer cultivo, he sembrado varias en una maceta, directo en la arena h煤meda a no menos de 5mm de profundidad, colocando est谩 en un lugar, c谩lido y luminoso, d贸nde recibe la luz directa del sol.
According to what I was researching before I started planting, germination was supposed to occur in two weeks,
so after a few days I have seen the first sprouts, but it is not yet time to transplant, since it is necessary to wait for some small leaves to sprout, to take them to a new pot, without damaging their delicate and soft roots.
Seg煤n estuve investigando antes de comenzar a plantar, la germinaci贸n deb铆a producirse en dos semanas, por lo que despu茅s de algunos d铆as he visto he visto los primeros brotes, pero a煤n no es el tiempo de transplantar, ya que es necesario esperar que broten algunas peque帽as hojas, para llevarlas a una nueva maceta, sin da帽ar sus delicadas y suaves ra铆ces.
馃 How did you take care of it?
It has been necessary to take care of it from the cold to be outdoors, water it in the morning, without bathing its leaves through an alternate irrigation without excess water, however the new crop I want to take it indoors in my kitchen, therefore once it is located, I must take it out during the day to achieve climatization and enjoy the sunlight.
It is recommended to prune it weekly so that new leaves sprout and so it can take advantage of its leaves before the end of its season, especially in those countries where the winter season is very cold because our plant dies because it does not tolerate the excessive cold.
馃 C贸mo la cuid贸?
A sido necesario cuidarla del fr铆o al estar en el exterior, regarla por la ma帽ana, sin ba帽ar sus hojas a trav茅s de un riego alternado sin exceso de agua, sin embargo la nueva cosecha quiero llevarla al interior en m铆 cocina, por lo tanto una vez este ubicada, debo durante el d铆a sacarla a fuera para lograr climatizarla y que disfrute de la luz solar.
Se recomienda podarla semanal para que broten nuevas hojas y as铆 se pueda aprovechar sus hojas antes de que termine su temporada, sobre todo en aquellos pa铆ses donde la estaci贸n de invierno es muy fr铆a por qu茅 nuestra planta muere al no tolerar el fr铆o excesivo.
In my case, not knowing very well the pruning technique, the stem of my plant grew long and therefore I lost the reproduction of many of its leaves, by not cutting the stems and dividing when transplanting to obtain its leafiness.
En mi caso al no conocer muy bien la t茅cnica de la poda, el tallo de mi planta creci贸 de forma larga y por ello perd铆 la reproducci贸n de muchas de sus hojas, al no cortar los tallos y dividir al transplantar para obtener as铆 su frondosidad.
馃 How do I take it to my kitchen?
I like it to come fresh from the plant, so I cut some leaves at the time to add to my preparations and seasoning in a natural way and thus preserving all its properties, it is necessary to be careful when cutting to avoid damage and that the plant continues to grow strong and healthy.
馃 C贸mo la llevo a m铆 cocina?
Me gusta que llegue fresca directo de la planta, por ello corto algunas hojas, al momento para agregar a mis preparaciones y condimentar de forma natural y conservando as铆 todas sus propiedades, es necesario tener cuidado al cortar para evitar da帽os y que la planta siga creciendo fuerte y sana.
This aromatic plant gives a gustatory and decorative touch to my preparations, without forgetting its healing properties, which are still the main reason for growing this beautiful and aromatic plant in my garden.
Est谩 planta arom谩tica da un toque gustativo a mis preparaciones y adem谩s decorativo, sin olvidar sus propiedades curativas que siguen siendo la principal raz贸n del cultivo de est谩 hermosa y arom谩tica planta en mi jard铆n.
