Hello, my friends in Hive!
Happy Hump Day!
The other day, I took my toddler to the neighborhood open playground so he could get some sunshine. The days prior, he had been unwell, and I always think that the early morning sun is very good for our bodies. So here we are thinking of what interesting to do while we were out. Everything seems fine; the weather was lovely, and the place was quiet as the morning. Since my baby just recovered from getting ill, his energy was not full, and he was not excited at all to go out, so aside from bringing water and a towel, I also brought something that I might think will lift his spirit up: a bubble stick!
Bubble sticks are one thing you can find in our house, not because my kids are fond of them, but because I play with them more than they do. lol. Bubbles have the same effect on me as other products that some people use or buy to heal their inner child.
Back then, when we didn't have much, I can still clearly recall how, whenever we went to the market, I secretly wished my mother would get me a bubble toy from the street vendor close to the market. But given how frugal my mother is, I know that she would rather use her extra cash to buy food or other important items than toys that we will only enjoy briefly. My parents put the needs of the family first, and they work hard. Okay, that's too much talk about the past. Let's get back to the present.
I also took a toy with us in case my toddler became bored outside while my elder child was at school. Additionally, bubbles hold a toddler in one spot. Without the toy, I promise you they'll be running all over the place. Bring a bubble stick with you if you don't want to chase after them. All you need to do is swing the stick in the air to hear a joyful child trying to chase and pop bubbles, laughing and giggling. It's a parenting tip! lol
It can be difficult as a parent to come up with entertaining and interesting activities to do, but kids are kids, and they like even the most simple and predictable things.
When you are having fun, that longer than an hour-long outdoor activity seems to go by so quickly. Sadly, we ran out of soap solution and, thus, bubbles.
We stayed for a while and let him see and explore around, until it was time to go home. He was in a happy mood while we were on our way home and asked if we could take his "kuya" with us next time.
It was a fun day outside playing bubbles, and it definitely made me and my family smile. This is my participation for #WednesdayWalk organized by @tattoodjay in collaboration with #makemesmile by
