The foreclosure home we purchased has two bedrooms upstairs. The rooms are identical in size, and they have dormers with desks built in. We decided to do the upstairs first because there was not much work that needed to be done to the upstairs. Really all the bedrooms needed were paint and new light fixtures.

We decided to go with blue because it is the color my son picked out for his room.

This is the room after painting. In the dormer area , I decided to paint it white.
We decided to take out the desk and build a window seat for the room.
The window seat was a weekend project. There a lots of how - to videos on how to build a window seat.
Here is the window seat finished.
The window seat needed a cushion, so I made the cushion to save money. I also made the pillows and roman shade.
We built the modern floating shelves for the books. The shelves are easy to make and it was fun. I felt it gave more character to the room.
The pendent light is my favorite thing in the room. The pendent light has a vintage edison light bulb.
