My son and I were invited to spend some time with friends, Henning and Yolande who have moved to Limburg which is on the border of Belgium. We had previously visited them in Leliestad and prior to that in Surrey, England

The metro and train to get to them was just under 2 hours from the South of the Netherlands.
We were collected at Roermond Station and they drove us to Maastricht, a town reputed to be as nice or nicer than Amsterdam - only prettier and not as crowded. This was definitely true and the town was incredibly attractive with tree lined streets and many pavement restaurants and cafe's.

We had a superb lunch. Lee and Yolande had the steak sandwich and Henning and I had a burger. The presentation and the taste was truly magnificent.
The steak on the steak roll was also superb, dusted with parmesan cheese.
The atmosphere was lovely
It was great to see our dear friend Daisy who is now a grand old lady - we've known her for many years
