After a wonderful lunch in Maastrecht- Burgers and Steak Rolls - I looked on the restaurants web site to see that the description of the steak roll is "Beef Steak" sandwich at Luster in Maastricht is served on pain de campagne (country bread) with grilled steak, aioli, cashews, and pecorino cheese.
The presentation was superb as was the taste of the food. Sadly we were so hungry that I didn't get any photographs.
After lunch they took us to an upmarket book store, which is in an old church. So happy we could experience this.

Driving back to their home:
Very pretty and picturesque through the windows
Back at their beautiful home with such an amazing atmosphere, we sat in the Cozy Corner
Henning started the barbecue and we tasted some amazing champagne from Champagne in France.
Henning kindly allowed me to use his photograph of the vineyard in Champagne
Cozy corner created by Yolande is a true masterpiece
Dinner was served and again I didn't get any photographs. Henning brought out some chicken wings, best I've ever had and although I could have had a second, Yolande told me not to have "Main course - remorse" as the steak followed and true to her word, I could not finish my steak. Henning is renowned for his cooking and I've yet to taste a better steak. I insisted that I could take my left over home with me - which I did - and Lee and I were able to savour the balance when we got home the next day.
Yolande made a potato bake that was truly delicious and I could have cleaned the platter so to speak. Wow, what a dinner!!
After tasting several delicious award winning wines with our dinner, we finally got to bed after midnight..
Morning came and we were in for a further treat - a five star breakfast - with absolutely nothing missing.
Home made Danish bread which we both loved
We were served fried eggs with bacon and sausage and grilled tomato. Kiwi fruit and Avocado Pear also adorned the table.
Delicious coffee too.
This trip was a truly memorable time for both Lee and myself. We were also given some of the ingredients to make the Danish bread, - and the recipe and which I will also blog about when I make it.
Turning 76 this year in August I will have so much to remember and be grateful for.
Thank you to our wonderful friends Henning and Yolande for this special treat.
Later we were driven to the Roermond station where we made our way back to Amsterdam.
