Hold me, it's cold outside,
with the wind howling in the dark night,
I bring my soul naked, without armour,
vulnerable to the world, in this waiting.
Woman, protect me from subtle fears,
from those echoes that scream in my thoughts,
from deep shadows and their cruel attempts
that stalk my heart with their fragile threads.
Protect me from myself, from this inner war,
from my doubts that are like withered stars,
from the cold tears that my soul needs
and from this loneliness that governs my being.
Hold me tight, let the cold stop,
may your warmth envelop me, may life not wane,
and so together, brave, let's face surrender.
