What is polygamy , this is an english word and it actually means the act of a man getting married to more than wife .

this was actually practiced by many men in The bible , so we can say that the practice is a very old one.
was practiced by some men in the Bible, including King David and Solomon.

Can we actually say that this was approved by God ?. From the beginning, God’s plan for marriage was one man and one woman.

In Genesis 2:24 (KJV), we see God's original design:

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

This verse clearly uses the word “wife”—singular—not wives. It reflects God’s intention for a monogamous union.

Jesus also affirmed this in Matthew 19:4-6, saying:

“...he which made them at the beginning made them male and female… Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh.”

In my opinion, i feel that strife, jealousy, and division are some of what may result from polygamy ,just as we saw in the lives of men like Solomon, whose many wives led him away from God.

Also, Luke 16:18 (KJV) strongly warns:

“Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery...”

This teaching shows that leaving one wife to marry another is not God's will, and marrying multiple wives violates the sanctity of marriage.

While God allowed polygamous men to live, it was not His ideal. His true will is one man, one wife, united in love and faithfulness.
Remain blessed!
