Cute idea resulting in to food=)

And with this i thought , hey lets share the story of me helping my buddy plan a valentines day lunch event. About 10-12 years ago,my friend who had a country golf kitchen just expierence one of the worst things to happens besides death..his staff got poached by another kitchen for more money..its sucks but hey its the game we play. and this happenned during the end of january, so they havent planned valentines menu yet.. He did the typical.. candlelighted table..a bottle of champange.. a heart shape box of chocolate and a dozen red roses. But food wise it was just off his menu. I go," Chuck this is good..but lets make this magical.." "Chef i just lost my crew we dont have time to do something fancy..." "Nay my friend, we will 😉 ."

So he is really good with beef, man knows his steaks so i really didnt' change his recipe but i suggested this.. His wife was his bakery-dessert chef. And she so loved cookies, that was her gimmick. Not only did she have the flavor knowledge, she also had DRAWERS full of cookie gadets. I asked her do you have any all metal heart shape cookie cutters.. ? She did and he asked why? I said what if we put a fillet Mignon in one..cooked it so it came out as a heart, and he looked at me like i lot my mind. Crazy yes..i know but she loved it and i knew that was the secret to get it approved. So then he said any thing for the ladies? OF COURSE! Grilled chicken with strawberries on a mixed greens. Real simple and easy my friend.. grill a breast of chicken.. add 5 strawberry with long stems ( washed and still attached) ,juilenne some red onion.. and crushed some candied pecans with it. Why keep the stems? What i did to give it a some pizzaz was make my Strawberrygrette . Its real easy and taste great for salads and even for pork. So take 2 cups of extra virgin olive oil ![untitled.gif] () mixed it in a blender with 1 cup of your favorite red wine vinegar , a cup of strawberries, 2 TBLspoons of sugar with a little salt and pepper to correct the taste.. BAM! a great dressing. It was a fun event and the local newspaper did a great review of the day. That day i thought about being a menu consultant..but i didnt take that road..i wonder what would have happen if i did though..?
