I usually share snaps about our night drinking session with our friends, since we like having drinks just at home, cozy and comfortable with everyone. But this time, it's different. We planned a weekend getaway at a pool resort, and mind you, it's on a rainy day. We got here around 11:00 in the morning, and since it's the weekend, the resort was busy. We brought kids too, and I have my nephew with me.
Since it's a planned outing, we have prepared some good food as well. We decided to do a potluck, or what we call "bring what you want to bring." One of our friends cooked Pakbet, a famous Ilocano vegetable dish here in the Philippines. We also had Caldereta, Igado, and fried Pork Chop. These were enough for our lunch.
We started eating around 12:30, while the kids had been swimming since we got here. We chose a spot right beside the swimming pool so we could keep an eye on the kids' safety. We cannot let them swim unsupervised.
After having lunch, we started playing cards. They also opened a bottle of gin for the adults to enjoy while singing and talking about life stories and experiences. We also checked on the kids swimming from time to time to ensure their safety and prevent any accidents in the pool.
When we finished a few bottles after drinking for almost 2 hours, we decided to go to the pool and join the kids. We didn't want to drink much since we'dd be driving home. It's for the kids' and our safety.
We enjoyed this weekend escape, and we saw the smiles on the kids' faces. They truly liked swimming. We will definitely plan something like this again. Of course, we didn't forget to take pictures while we were there.
