Greetings, friends of laughter visiting the Comedy Open Mic community, what would become of us if we didn't have the opportunity to laugh every day?
Laughter arises, sometimes because of what we are living, or by contagion, it happens to me, that if I see someone laughing out loud, after a while I am doing the same, without knowing the reason. This is what makes us get together as a family to talk, knowing that a good anecdote will come out and will remain there to laugh forever.
This is how I learned the story of a former co-worker, a rather serious man, who has a very witty son and is a close friend of my children. Apparently, when they get together, they always have something to tell about their parents, I imagine my daughter, red with laughter, telling about my father's or her father's absent-mindedness.
It turns out that a little girl had to make some puppets for her school, and her mother came up with the idea of making papier-mâché paste to make some dolls. They worked all afternoon and when they finished they had some paste left over, which they put in a glass jar inside the fridge.
It was a white paste, somewhat soft, which had: paper cuttings, white glue, salt, water and a little flour to give it consistency. The father arrived at night and as usual went straight to the refrigerator to drink water, he saw the container with the white mixture, which looked like a kind of spreadable cream; without thinking he took a spoon and put some in his mouth, it had an unpleasant taste, but he still swallowed and went to ask his wife what kind of cream he had made. She, surprised, told him what it was and immediately began to laugh and tell others what had happened and that is how this story is now part of the repertoire of stories to make his son laugh, which is what he likes.
But I too have had similar experiences of confusions at home. For some time now, I have been buying the shampoo that comes in paper wrappers and, at some point, also the cream deodorant that comes in the same presentation. I take care of buying all the hygiene products and put them in the bathroom, I like to try new brands and types of these items.
One day I hear my partner, screaming in the bathroom:
"What is this thing?", without thinking I went in to see what was wrong. For not reading, he had automatically grabbed the sachet of cream deodorant and sprayed a good amount on his hair.
That mixture is pasty and doesn't dilute easily, he had a sticky mess in his hair. He was very angry and indignation was making him say incoherent things. "What's that doing there, why did they buy that? He never imagined that it was deodorant, because until now he had bought it in a bottle.
I laughed in his face, as much as I could. He had to shampoo his hair several times to get that paste out. In the end he laughed too.
Sometimes confusions are caused by a kind of naivety, but I'll talk about those in another post.
Thank you for your kind reading
