"Ask me for a blessing" said a grumpy uncle whom I was not even provoked to see like the others. In those days, doing so, was more a sign of respect than a desire to receive protection.

That simple act could be really uncomfortable and how many reprimands I earned for not having that initiative. Asking for something was only done to one's mother: "be very careful if you are going to be asking" was the admonition prior to any meeting, gathering or party, even if it was people you trusted.

To this was added the premise: "he who is going to give does not ask" which made people think that there was a certain obligation in the giver that exempted the action of asking.

In the course of life we realize that this verb is immersed in a number of situations: we ask for silence, protection, help, respect, peace and justice, among others, it does not look good to ask for love and much worse to ask for money.

Life has changed and so have beliefs. There are those who say: "ask, you don't know if they are about to give you". How many times, when faced with the outcome of a difficult situation, people question and express why they did not ask for help before, but the rigors of upbringing, principles and values, self-concept, and other beliefs that we impose on ourselves prevent us from asking for something we need.

Recently, our dear friend mosa71@mosa71, gifted us with an excellent post that gave me pause. Just that day came one of those high points that sometimes happen to us. One of my daughters is going through a health problem; the economic situation we live in, most of us, does not allow us to afford the amount of medical consultations, echosonograms, exams and other laboratory tests.

I got a little desperate, and remembered mosa71@mosa71's words.

If you ask for it and express it from love, determination, from deserving, dignity, humility, gratitude at the right time, it is likely that you will get what you want, as it is also likely that you will not, if the second happens, well, nothing happens, at least you manifested it and this will give you freedom.

I wrote a letter from love and gratitude and I passed it to my closest family and friends, I asked them for help so that my daughter could afford the first part of what she needs to solve her health problem.

I received immediate help from family and friends, I felt grateful to know that there are good people around me. I even received a pleasant surprise from a friend who spontaneously gave me a contribution for my daughter.

We are still at the beginning of the road, the health situation is not yet resolved, but the certainty that everything will be solved makes me feel calm.

From love, infinite thanks.
