In case you don't know the Bunny Hash is a Hash Run that is normally reserved just for the women in our ranks. It was originally designed to counter the fact that there is traditionally a men only run that takes place on Mondays around the world. This is not due to sexism or anything stupid like that it is simply because the first Hash events, which took place around 100 years ago, had this policy. We accommodate the women on all other events and our policy of not allowing women on the Monday runs would probably be illegal in USA and other countries that try to make a lawsuit out of anything they can. However, in Thailand, such tomfoolery doesn't happen.
The Bunny Hash is women only but every now and then they invite the men to come along and their Sunday Christmas Run (actually the day after Christmas but whose counting?) was a big one!
The usual outfit requirements of wigs and skirts for the men in attendance was also waived and this was a generous act on their part because the women make all the rules at these things and us lowly men do not get a say in how anything works.
We do get a bit jealous when we go to the Bunny Hash events because they put a lot more emphasis on having food than we do and man, oh man did they go out of their way this time.
Normally at a Bunny Hash you can expect a Thai salad and some bits of dried meat but a full BBQ complete with ribs? Now that is really going out of your way to keep the troops happy and it was very much appreciated. Of course there was tons of beer as well but one thing about our bunnies is that they don't really drink as much as we do. In fact, I can't really think of a single bunny in our crew that does drink a lot other than the ones that are no longer here!
I think that the Bunnies are trying to show off to us every time we are allowed at these things because there is just something about all of the ones that I have been to that showcases that they really put a lot more into making these events NICE whereas with the men, we don't even have chairs at our get-togethers and food? Well, if we have a few bananas and some potato chips that would be considered a "nice spread."
Good work to the ladies, they really know how to make us jealous and if this was intentional then you have accomplished your mission.
They don't do Bunny Runs very frequently; normally only once a month or so but when they do and the men are allowed to attend I highly recommend that you do so if you can. Sure they will normally dress you up and make you look silly and certainly put you on the ice a lot, but in the end you are going to have a great time regardless.
They have their own logo as well!
