Over the last week I've been in pain. A mind numbing, soul breaking, rationality destroying pain. This morning I couldn't take it anymore. Pain killers were not working and I couldn't do anything but lay down and cry. Luckily I managed to get an emergency appointment with the dentist, and this was me not even being sure that it was a tooth causing the large area of pain in my face, ear and neck. The dentist recommended a root canal on a tooth that had been eating away at itself from the inside (a process called resorption, where the filling was irritating the nerve and my body tried to remove the irritant by removing tooth material). Luckily he was able to do the procedure today. On the left is me waiting for the local anesthetic to kick in, and the right is me at home, after the procedure.
Once I can form coherent sentences again I shall share more of my experiences and self reflections from the last week.
