Greetings Foodies
It's New Year's Eve here in Bonnie Scotland and we are preparing a nice big pot of soup.
My 2 year old niece Anna loves cooking so I let her help with this soup as it's a relatively simple process of adding the ingredients to the pot and stirring them. Here she is nibbling on a raw piece of carrot...
Next, she tries peeling the onion...
Time to add a vegetable stock cube...
This is a bag of vegetable soup mix containing carrot, potatoes and swede
More carrot and a freshly chopped onion...
A nice healthy mix of vegetables!
Adding in a few cups of water...
We add in a tin of lentil and veg soup rather than using fresh lentils.
Time to give it a good stir. The heat isn't on at this point, Anna is just making sure everything is stirred up nicely.
Time to let it bubble and boil!
And now we have some tasty and very nourishing soup for lunch with a couple of crackers for dipping.
