A mouse saw a farmer opening up a package, thinking that it might be food, the mouse kept on watching. The mouse was extremely startled as the parcel was actually a mouse trap. So the mouse ran off to tell and warn the other animals on the farm.
"Be aware, the human has installed a mouse trap!",said the mouse. The hen saw the frantic mouse and asked him why he is running like mad. The mouse told the hen about the trap but the hen just laughed at him. "I am not worried about that, it is meant for you, it is your problem, it has nothing to do with me", said the hen, still laughing.
The mouse left the hen and ran towards the goat. "There's a new mouse trap installed by the human, I came to warn you about it", said the mouse. " What does it has to do with me? I am too big for the tiny mouse trap, it is for you, your own problem. But don't you worry, I'll pray for you so you won't get caught in it", said the goat smiling sarcastically.
The mouse then left the goat and looked for the cow. He found the cow, grazing some fresh grass on the field. "Mr. cow, I came to tell you that a new mousetrap has been installed by the human", said the mouse. "A mouse trap? Why should I be worried about it? The cow looked at the mouse and then continued grazing the grass.
The mouse felt so sad, with his head bowed down, he walked slowly back to the house, wondering why no one cared about him. No one seems to sympathize with him or even lend a hand to help.
That night, a loud snap is heard from the house, it seems like the mousetrap has caught its first victim. The farmer's housewife heard the sound and went to check the mousetrap. As she lifted the mousetrap, a small poisonous snake that was caught by the trap managed to sneak its heads out and bite the farmer's wife's hand. The farmer saw the incident and quickly rushed his wife to the hospital, but it was a bit too late, there is a 50-50 chance that she might not live even though she has already been given an anti-venom injection.
The farmer took her wife home and nursed her, she is having a fever, so the farmer thought about cooking a chicken soup for her. He caught the hen, killed it and made it into a soup, but the wife's health gets even more worse. More people came to see her, and they started to pray. The farmer then had to kill the goat so that he can cook something to feed his guest. The farmer's wife's health deteriorates day after day, and a week later she died. All the people in the village came to give her their last respects and helped to give her a proper burial. The farmer has to butcher the cow to pay for her burial and cooked some of its meats to feed the people who came to help. The mouse felt sorry that the hen, the goat, and the cow has to pay the price for not heeding his warnings earlier and to help him to neutralizes the trap.
