Team hardwork does pay. Yup, this was proven yesterday when we won the group choir competition at school.

We've been practising for one month for this competition. There were some argument on what songs to choose amongst us. But after thorough discussion and through democracy system aka castin vote, we come to a decision to choose these songs:
  • 'Warisan' by Sudirman.

  • 'Negaraku' by Song by Altimet, Faizal Tahir, Joe Flizzow, and SonaOne.

  • 'Remember Me' sountrack from the movie Coco.

  • A Million Dreams sountrack from the movie The Greatest Showman.

  • 'Sehati Sejiwa' by Haslida.

Since we're given only eight minutes to perform, we need to sing all these songs in one go. Our team decided to practice every Monday and Friday morning before class sessions. However, as the competition is just around the corner, we practise everyday before class sessions. My class sessions start at 10.30 AM and finish at 5.50 PM. Usually my dad sent me to school at 9 AM. So, last week I have to wake up as early as 6 AM as we scheduled to practise at 7 AM.

There were five groups competing for the choir competition yesterday. My cousin, Ciarra's class was one of them. The competition started with a speech from the Principal followed by the MC inviting us to stage to perform. I say we look nice yesterday in our Malaysian traditional costume. I wore a costume from the Kadazan Penampang ethnic, my friends, Danielle wore a Chinese Cheongsam and Nicole wore an Indian Sari. Our aims is to show the audience that Malaysia is a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religion country.

When we started to sing, everybody stopped talking and listen. We were so happy to hear the audience clapped hands after we finished singging. This followed by the next four groups giving their best performance.

When the MC announced that my cousin Ciarra's group claimed the third prize, I was so nervous. Then the second prize announced, I was like...oh no... there's only one more spot left. As the MC announced that we're the winner, we jumped and shouted Hooray. Yup, we are the best class in Form one. Best in study and best in any competitions!
