Have a wonderful day my fellow Hivers! My aunt is not around. She's working in the mountain and as she is a Catholic, she is an active member of the chapel community here. Last night, some women arrived at home and they leave the statue of the virgin Mary at home for the next routine of Novena everyday. They arrived yesterday and today have the novena at home then they bring the Virgin Mary to our neighbor. All members are active every night. This is a kind of tradition and culture of Catholic religion.
I also remember this routine every night when I visited Bohol when my great-grandmother was still alive. What the excitement moment being a child before was after the rosary or novena. The owner of the house must prepare snacks and drinks. Men's enjoy drinking tuba or coconut liquor so when they got home, they sleep quickly and I observed those moments with my grandfather. But later on, my grandparents became born again Christian.
Everyone were so serious for the novena. Even the cat and dog behaved like human. They listened and never bark the people. I feel the unique atmosphere at home. The silence and the spirit of something that I couldn't explain. Maybe , I just miss spiritual aspects in life. The situation of people and the world are no longer in normal situation. We can feel it, the agony of people , the killing of innocent, the government and politicians are annoying. The economy crisis and crime everywhere is beyond the belt. It's no longer safe around and now we need God intervention to help us to ease the calamity happening every now and then.
So I appreciate this group of women who are praying everyday. Its not the religion that could save us but our faith to God, the only one God. Let us pray always . God bless everyone.
