A noisy start to the day. Some floor work going on above - a floor away. Getting.like my grandfather - cannot handle noise. He served 4 years in WWI trenches in Europe from 1914. He knew noise. Dragged the body out to catch a train - was going toward the city
Well the trains did not play. Cancellation in the direction I wanted to go. No problem - go the other way and replanted from there. All I want is a slice of bush to walk
All good being flexible. Train went 3 stations and stood for ages - signal up front says no go. Just got out and planned a different walk.
Walked down a road in Warrawee never walked - some grand old house - a few with long driveways. Woodlands is a good name

Archways. Fab street to live in - dead end going up to sustain which is walking distance. Far enough away to not hear trains.

Road ran into a park I walked a bit when I loved down that way. White faced heron in Karuah Park.
Decided to walk down to what was my local track - Lovers Jump Creek. Not walked it in the 30 months since we moved away
Was blessed to see a lyre bird scoot across the path. See if you can find it on the log
Budding grand greenhood - pterostylis baptistii - flowering next month. Rain started to sprinkle about then
Started to pour down. Hid under a big tree next to the creek for the rain to ease off. Eventually decided to head home - race up o the hill to find cover and a bus stop.
Did check a few known orchid spots just above where I was. Did know the maroonhoods would be flowering. The local bushcare people or the council have strimmed the big colony. These are from the other side of the track

Had planned to walk the track east to get the bus. The rain was all that side - went back to the blue. Found a budding chiloglottis orchid in a known spot

Rain cleared - walked the way the bus would go - stop by stop eye on the timetable. Fab orchid in this front garden
Walked past the lady in pink on a bus stop short of the station. I beat the bus. Turned into a big walk - 4 stations in all. Good to see orchids
Not sure I can walk the track. It carries many happy hours which are no longer on the doorstep
