Sheldon Forest orchids to keep depression at bay : August 3 2026
Some weird dreams - did not want to move. Good thing the cleaners had shifted their time to later in the day. Head space is a struggle - called depression
My best medicine is to get outside. Caught the train two stations up to walk Sheldon Forest hoping to find bootlace orchids open. The surprise in the Turramurra community garden was the first spring blossom. Yep - a blossom in the first week of August

Bootlace orchid got some time to go - maybe two weeks. Good news is the one remaining palnt is healthy. Last year there were more than one

Chose to do the drop down into the rainforest. Hoping to find some winter rainforest orchids.
Best was a summer orchid - cryptostylis - probably subulata - leaf back is green. Have put my name tag at an angle along the line the seed would have come down a crack in the rock before settling

Coming up away from the creek - acianthus orchid leaves on a mossy bank
Did get one more pixie caps orchid in flower. A big walk for only two orchids in flower

Did cook dinner - a simple creamy pasta dish with shredded baby spinach and smoked salmon. Was yum and easy to make
