Some weird dreams and a blue sky day. A few photos shared of a particular orchid. Get organised - get moving to find them in a spot I know

A cluster of greenhood orchid leaves just were the rainforest edge is. No spikes. Guessing the flowers are still to come
Close by acianthus orchid leaf looking a bit sad. Did see better further along
Crossed the creek and walked up the other side for a bit. Found one hibbertia flowering - just one
More late flowers - banksia this time
Maybe early flowering. The light contrast into the afternoon sun made this for me

Hakea blossoming a bit early. Winter has been mild these few weeks

Wax flower seems a little late flowering.
Banksia flowering
Walked a bit off track above the creek seeing if orchids develop this side too. Only ever seen them the other side - starburst flower
Back to the main track - found a small helmet orchid. This spot is new and higher than where I have seen them before
Had only noticed one flower. Down on the knees for photos and found a few more
The leaf is the size of a thumbnail. The flower is maybe half the width of a US penny. Good thing these are growing in the open
Found a few - corybas unguiculatus
Also found a spurred helmet orchid - a few - corybas aconitiflorus
There were leeches. Tucked my pants into the socks as a defence

Did find a corybas unguiculatus closer to the original spot. Need to come back with a clear mind to map the extent of their habitat

One last offering for the weeks to come - maybe a sun orchid getting ready
Stopped at butcher on the way home. A few South African specials lined up. Cooking dinner for a friend. First time making chicken schnitzels from scratch. Cut out the tenderloin. Roll flat. Brine for 30 minutes in salt water
Lining up the batter bits - flour - egg - bread crumbs
Cook two minutes a side in oil - sunflower - do not drown - maybe 4 mm deep
Served with rehashed potatoes and some veges. Worked well
