2nd site for endangered midge orchids - at last : February 26 2026
Day started with a message from a friend. She has found the midge orchids I told her about - a first sighting for her. That got me moving to check out my other known site

Missed these last walk - seeded which means they were open then. Hiding in the long grass
As good a close up as I could get - will check next week to see if this is seeded vs opening. The clue to seeded is the capsule starts to swell. Does not look that way

Wallaby chomping in the playground - some way off. Walked back up new Banks Track not walked before
Double bulbed mushroom. Not seen one like this before
Always a good day finding the endangered orchids.
Did the shopping on the way home. The big rain they forecast started late giving me a dry walk.
