The idea of being back in Sydney was so my wife could see her grandson. Silly me thought that might be in the morning. Got that wrong - kept busy doing investing accounts done. That was a challenge with two IT things not working. Cannot update prices on Excel sheets I use to frame the week's events. Found a workaround to get that right. Then Quicken Personal Plus got stuck in loops whenever I wanted to view a portfolio. Perfect way for an IT jock to burn away a day - fuz interview lack bike foresight
We did get to visit Ollie after lunch. He was in a good frame of mind. There were monster games played with the container behind his chair. Run Mark run says Ollie
Was thinking of walking back a station or two to go home - thunderstorm whizzed by. Best go home with a roof over my head
Rain cleared and I did head out for a walk - steps needed. Decided to walk to my closest piece of bush in the hope of finding bonnet orchids open. Caught this bougainvillea on the way up toward the station. Colour was one of my mother's favourites. I must say I do not recall seeing the white crown that comes out of the centre
I have walked over this bridge maybe once a month since we moved here 2 years ago - mostly on this left hand side
Never noticed this sign - bridge opened only in 1969. Before that was the long way around to the left or a steep V-shaped drop to the creek and a causeway
Not far from the bridge is the walkway that goes into Richmond Park Gordon. This a remant piece of bushland - sign says iron bark or turpentine - maybe the last 5% still standing
It is rainforest land - not a lot of colour. Did find some
The mission was bonnet orchids. Found some on the right hand side of the track in a new spot. Was not expecting them as this side is close to the houses and the chemicals people put on their gardens wipes out orchids
Stepped back view of the next plant along - one of 3 plants. Single leaf shaped like a eucalyptus leaf - big spike, one flower and a new bud forming behind - cryptostylis erecta
Close up. Flower is the size of a middle fiingernail. Cryptostlyis erecta
Side on. That is the small segment of Rochmond Park offering up two orchids for orchid of the day
Nice evening light for this shot of a house - a knock down
House next door down - newly painted
One around the corner for sale - photo board looks like developer shot - only a top down shot of fall down house
Did pick up a passenger in the bush - always available for free after a little rain
Cream coloured frangipani on the way up to the station. Walk done - orchid found and steps done
Did cook dinner - macaroni cheese on the stage before baking. Somehow the staged photos of making a roux and a bechemel did not make it
More wrestling with investing spreadsheets to find a different way to upload prices - sure hope Microsoft fixes the problem overnight
