More New Season Midge Orchids : My Actifit Report Card: January 5 2022
The days drift into each other. The body does not want to move. The next 10 day cycle of rain begins. The next stanhopea tigrina flower popped out - the smell is sweet jasmine
I did drag myself out to walk and shop. I had shared some orchid spots with a friend - he found a few yesterday I was hoping to see. First segment yielded no midge orchids. Eamonn had found one
Did find a new spot for large tongue orchids
These are spectacular
These little flowers are just starting
Walked further than I normally do and found a new midge orchid
Close up of corunastylis rupii
Found a new spot for bonnet orchids on track edge
More variegated hyacinth orchids further along the track
Close up - dipodium variegatum
Found another Rupp's midge orchid on the way back. This reinforces the lesson I have learned - keep walking the same tracks over and over
Close up
There is some debate about Christmas bells. Two varieties with one having longer bells - this feels like longer bells
One more variegated hyacinth orchid deep in the bush coming back to where Eamonn saw a bearded orchid yesterday.
My mission - see his 3 orchids. I found none but still had a good walk.
Did shopping after
Walked the dog we are sitting. We went for drinks with our neighbour below. Takes time to break the ice - was fun.
Dinner: Chicken drummies in the airfryer
