A gorgeous autumn day demanded some garden work - raked leaves. Wife was busy in calls all day. Used the morning light to go check the green orchid buds I found a few days back. Walked the track in opposite the normal direction but first checked out a few locations on the end of the loop track. First of the mosquito orchids on this side pushing flower spikes
Will come back to see the wasp orchids when they are ready to flower.
Took a detour off the main track to explore stuff growing out of a fallen tree stump. Found these mosquito orchids - a whole bank of them cascading 70 metres down the hill side. They are optimised to attract mosquitos - the black spots and bites are testament.
Found a few cool mushrooms
Love the shiny one
And this little one in its green fringed stage
When I crossed the creek I wondered if there were fish - did not see any. This man is testing it out with a hand line
And I did find the geeen buds - turned out not to be special green variety (I checked GPS to be sure it was the same plant)
Mosquito orchid - yes. Possibly large judging by the purple and size
The gossamer hood says small
Trade action: Bought AUD to pay off some margin calls from last month. Amazing to see AUD 10% stronger than 3 weeks ago. I did not have cash then to trade into AUD .
