Thanks for the comments and the reminder to reblog. :)
No, not gonna tell people "Eat a tomato with your coffee," LOL, but she would suggest a bite of broccoli or leftover roasted cauliflower FIRST, then the coffee with the sweet thing. Sweets for breakfast? Not a "savory" meal, you food-loving Greek chef, you! Oh to eat pastries, bread, omelets, eggs of any kind, to eat breakfast at all - I'm on the 16-hour fast for life. No more breakfast. No pancakes, no muffins. With the gluten, dairy and egg allergy, plus nitrites/nitrates (ham, bacon), I can't say I miss breakfast. Oh, how I do miss bread and butter, pizza, beer... yes, I've checked out recipe sites from adventurous chefs, but so far, none of these tricky and unfamiliar recipes have turned out well for me. A lot of time and money wasted on garbage alternatives to real bread. Sorry, look who's contrary now!
If your glucose levels are ok and you're not suffering fatigue, headaches, eczema, diabetes, or whatever, keep eating the way you're eating - with my blessing. Envy, no. I live with a guy who can eat ANYTHING he wants and get away with it. I begrudge him none of it. I even continue to bake bread and cookies for him. Call me a martyr....
