RE: Safety Last But Not Least, a freewrite poem
YES - " If I try to avoid it or suppress it it only gets stronger." What you resist persists Sounds like you were trying "exposure therapy," which did not work for my OCD friend who

RE: Safety Last But Not Least, a freewrite poem
A panic attack - you! Somehow I imagine you are so far above the rest of us in your ability to cope, to find beauty, peace, joy, and solace in nature -- and to express it so well in poetry. For you to

RE: Vacationing With A Little Old Lady
#ThankYou so much for the kind words! Me: loving, thoughtful, generous. Who'd believe it??? You do - God bless you. Checking in here, vs checking email - it's hit and miss with me. Mea culpa! Looking forward

Thank you Josie! I realize I'm not her rescuer, and I do try to convince her that she is not a VICTIM. The past is past. Live in the now. Her parents are dead. New tormenters have come along, but she lives

What she said! Thanks @iskawrites. I'm reminded of all those trendy books promising us we can "manifest" what we want. The Prayer of Jabez: Breaking Through to the Blessed Life by Bruce Wilkinson,

A little girl raped by her own father and abused, verbally and physically, and mentally tortured, somehow has grown up and made it to age 55, but she has severe OCD and wants to die but won't kill herself

RE: A 50 years old book, Photographing Nature: Life Library of Photography 1971
I #love it when old books are still relevant - and easier to read than today's! Textbooks. Grade school, high school. My kids brought home these cluttered, overly-visual school books full of photos, bold

RE: Weird, wonderful, memorable: Robert Jackson Bennett’s latest novel The Poisoned Cup
It's richly imagined, for sure - the 'trees' are more like bamboo, and the description is lurid, and the contagion is all too believable (Wuhan labs, anyone?). I loved seeing engineers and road builders

Wow, when you read a book, you really interact with the author, with the words. The poems, the stories, the themes (as in your Lord of the Flies review). I love your spirit and energy, your honesty, your

What a great book review! You re-tell the story with great visuals from the AI. You pull the reader right in - almost to the point that we have read the book with you - but no, you give us only enough

Oh dear - ten days, it's taken me, to find this comment! Your daughter's "Fly vs Drive" story only reinforces my dread of ever setting foot in airports again. Searched. ID'd. X-rayed. Come to

This book is more about coming across the dead bodies and finding out whodunnit - I detest reading battle scenes, so I'm with you there! I'd suggest getting her name in for the library book. New books

RE: Book Review: The Turn of the Screw by Henry James (ENG/ESP)
Henry James - God bless you! - when I was in college (in the 1980s) it seemed all English majors except for me hated reading Henry. His page-long sentences, his verbosity, didn't appeal to a TV viewing
