How did I not see this one before seven days had passed...??? Love the two brothers, the silo, the meat drop, your painting! November 10th it is, already, yet me still not ready to write or paint. Frozen,

I'm so happy you like Mary Oliver - and even more than I'd dared hope. So simple - yes - that's the real beauty. Capturing the ineffable. And yes - yes - it does seem as if she is right there with the

Thank you!!!! You've been a lifeline for me. :) And so if ever I say something that offends, please let me know, that I might mend my ways.... ❤️

Thank you, Marianne! I'm working my way back... this is such a great community. So supportive. Here, I have never witnessed conflict, drama, back-stabbing, power ploys, attention-seeking, or any of the

None married, none contributed to the gene pool before they departed this earth - {{ sad! }} Currently reading a book explaining Buddhism, having just read a few core ideas of Hinduism, and I'm reminded

Dust today, and tomorrow it will all be back again. "Sun and wind make great housekeepers" - Willa Cather, in The Professor's House, in which a guy discovered a cliff dwelling in New Mexico.

Yes! First, your photo is amazing, and I wonder if you snapped it or photoshopped it yourself. Nights on the porch after dinner, watching wheels/whatever go by. Farmers in my childhood did that. (Not my

I feel better now. :) The teapot did not shatter! Yes!!!! covid-con-finement Now we have young militants gluing their hands to museum paintings. Makes me wish all the galleries were still closed and safe

Thank you @scribblingramma! Every day from November to April, I read Susie Larson's Daily Blessings and shared them with Kelly. Who could be more positive and uplifting than Susie, reminding us of all

FOUR brothers.... ohhhh that is hard.... and all in their 20s. I'm so sorry!! My mom and yours - trust in God and heaven! Beautiful words: "Sometimes God reaches down and picks the flowers."

I LOVE THIS STORY and the last line is the best - but the red teapot in the picture had better not be the one that broke, as I love it. Can you also assure us the teapot didn't really shatter? LOL. I'm

Thank you. The "poor soul" is each of my sisters - gone! - while I, for no reason, get to live. Death is no respecter of persons, cancer is no respecter of social class or wealth....

No need to be sorry - I've been silent, too! Today for the first time in forever I posted something for the 5-minute freewrite. Love "ennui" and 'brutal' and The Champ and that photo of your

#wonderful, it is! First, we should all heed the imperative to make sure our Last Will and Testament is up to date and legal. My sister's was not notarized in Germany, and it has cost her daughters ten

Ohhhhh, beautiful (and brutal) but above all BEAUTIFUL, @owasco! The Champ - masterful! Proving that you are still "poeting" (hey, if impact can become a verb, so can "to poet," right?).

Me too! (feel better) - the way " a hungry Harold pondered his next move" reminded me of my sister's high school classmate, a bachelor who died at home (cardiac arrest?) and his mother found

Stacey you wrote this? WOW!!!!

How do you keep the memories out....? As I peel and cut apples, I keep thinking of my 3 departed sisters. How they loved autumn, and apple crisp, and all things pumpkin. How they should he HERE now, here
