Hello to everyone in the Hive Pets community! Today I bring you a new update on the growth of my little Tuna kittens and they will almost reach the second month (this September 20) and the changes have not been long in coming. Right now my cat Kira is weaning them off the breast, which means the kittens are ready to try new foods and also put their new teeth to the test. So join me.
Since a few days ago, we noticed that the kittens started to have much bigger and stronger teeth. Of course, Kira didn't let them know it too as she was already meowing a lot every time the kittens approached her to take from her breast. It made her teeth uncomfortable and the latching is not the same anymore. So we decided to prepare her first meal; cooked and mashed chicken. We thought the kittens were going to take a little longer to accept this type of food but as soon as we put the chicken on her, they started to chew it with a lot of enthusiasm. They were a little clumsy eating but that will improve with time.
With the first food ready, we decided to try new options for them. Even though the kittens are bigger, they can't eat hard food yet and they can't eat too much food. We have to experiment with what they like and can eat. How to give them feed (gatarina) moistened with a little chicken broth or water. With this new food, again the kittens were running to eat everything within their reach. So they have already accepted two types of food and it has been very good for them, since none of them have fallen ill or anything like that. A good sign.
Of course, now that the kittens are eating solid food, they are starting to make their first stools. Some of them are having a hard time and Kira is helping them with the work. Because they now need to evacuate, the kittens have moved from being in our room to the living room of the house. And I think it was pretty good because they have a lot of room to run and play, so they liked being there in that new space. The sandboxes for our big cats can't be used by the little ones, so we got a large but adequate (at their height) bowl for them to train in.
With respect to living at home with the other pets, things have turned out pretty well as Dio (my male cat) is playful and affectionate with them. Kittie was a little hard to get close to but finally gave in to his charms. Brandy and Mia were the most excited to see the little ones. Especially Brandy, who loves puppies as she has had experience with baby cats. However, kittens don't like puppies very much, so we've tried to keep them away from them. Until today, the kittens have finally come to accept the fact that the puppies are just pure innocence and goodness, they pose no danger whatsoever.
To finish, I have to say that the last big surprise we have had with the kittens is that we discovered that Kiko (the white baby) is not a male, he is a female. That changes things a little bit because now I can say that she is totally identical to her mom, Kira. That's how things are going around here in the cat world. It's getting close to the time to give them away, but I feel at ease. Without more to say my friends, thank you very much for stopping by and reading my post. I send you a big hug and I'll see you next time.
