Hello my dear Hive friends, today I want to share with you this personal story of what it was like to live a childhood without grandparents.
I didn't know my grandparents, none of the 4, my parents told us a lot about them and those stories and tales are the only memories I have. By the time they lived they didn't even have pictures. My parents told us that they were good people and that my grandfather on my father's side was very funny and told jokes that everyone laughed at. That's where the charisma and grace that some of his grandchildren have (I am one of them) comes from.

I didn't know them because I am number 10 of my siblings (we were 13) and when I was born they were no longer there. I always longed to talk to one of them, especially my grandmothers, to be spoiled, to be advised on things that perhaps I could not tell my mother, who was always busy with so many children.

My sisters and I, because we were the youngest, always talked about what it would be like if we had met one of our grandmothers. My grandmother on my mother's side was named Tomasa and she was the closest to my older siblings, they enjoyed her. When I was a teenager I missed her a lot because I would see my friends or classmates and they would say "grandma told me this and that".
With a certain sadness I would hear them and alone I would think "I never had that happiness". It would have been nice to meet, at least try, one of my grandparents and have those memories that most people have of them.
