Greetings, dear foodie friends
Today I'm so happy because I finally made some meringues that turned out wonderfully! I also got to try out my birthday present (a super electric mixer). This is my first recipe using this magnificent and useful appliance, and these meringues came out almost perfect.
For some, this recipe will be very easy to make, but for others, like me, it might not be. This time, I carefully watched several YouTube videos. Among so many recipes and methods, I chose the one that seemed easiest and included some tricks that are essential for making the recipe turn out great.
In this recipe, the sugar should be double the amount of egg whites used. Also, the egg whites should be completely free of any yolk residue, and the oven should be preheated to between 90 and 100 degrees Celsius. This ensures that the meringues will be perfectly dry and baked evenly.

Let's make the recipe
-300 grams of egg whites.
-150 grams of white sugar.
-10 grams of cornstarch.
-1/4 teaspoon of salt.
-1 teaspoon of lemon juice or vanilla extract, optional.
Begin by pouring the egg whites into the bowl you'll be using. These egg whites should be at room temperature. Beat them at low speed. When you see the whites start to foam, add a pinch of salt and continue beating until you get very frothy whites.
Now we move on to the next step, we put our mixer at maximum speed and start adding the sugar little by little, we beat for approximately 5 minutes without stopping and always at maximum speed, in this step and before the 5 minutes are up you can add the lemon juice or the vanilla, but this is optional.
After 5 minutes we stop beating and our preparation should have a firm consistency.
Now, to give it more firmness, we add the cornstarch and beat at maximum speed for approximately 1 minute, giving time for the cornstarch to integrate well into our preparation. We will have a super firm meringue; I've included photos of how it should look.
Our meringue for meringues is ready! So we turn on our oven to 90-100 degrees Celsius maximum, do not use the hottest oven because there is a risk that they will not cook properly.
We prepare our piping bag, fill it with meringue, and shape our meringues.
We bake them for approximately two and a half hours. You need a little patience for the baking, but the result is wonderful. The baking time will also depend on your oven and the size you decide to make your meringues; the smaller you make them, the less time they will take to bake. In these two photos, I'm showing you that the first meringues I made came out dry and very neat; nothing burned 馃槣 I was in love with the result.
Here are some much smaller meringues that I baked for about an hour and a half, and they turned out fantastic! By the way, I divided the batter and used pink and yellow food coloring. I love white, but I also like having color in these kinds of recipes.
Once I baked all the meringues, I put some in a bag to give to my neighbors and the rest in a glass container with a lid鈥攖hey keep very well in there!
I hope you liked the recipe and that you'll try making it at home. Kids and adults alike will enjoy this delicious treat; it's the perfect sweet for children's parties
