Zvonećanski zvončari
These shots I made in February 2019 during carnival time, somewhere on the forest road between Mučići & Zvoneće, Croatia. These are the bell ringers/carriers from Zvoneće who traditionally walked from their village to the neighboring village Rukavac to visit their fellow ringers from that village called Rukavački zvončari. This walk lasted from early morning, approximately 09:00 h, to the late evening. 12 h of walking at least & around 15 km long. They don't just pass those 2 villages & not only asphalt road but forest paths & dirt roads too! They visit & pass through the many small villages during this pilgrimage, chasing away the evil winter spirits & calling spring to come with the noises of the huge bells they carry. It is really a monumental sound & worth to witness. This time I didn't walk the whole path with them, as I remember, only few of the last hours so the night caught us & these shots are a bit dark but I still see a value in them & I decided to post them...
Pissing time
The path is long & it's still winter & these guys are dressed in not so warm clothes so they're captain is making them drink wine & rakija to keep them warm & pumped so they often stop to piss...
