This is one more photo blog post from the tele lens series of mine. I've been really active with the tele lens lately going around the city & just shooting. This time I climbed the castle Trsat where one of the best viewpoints is. This positions gives the best view over the very center of the city, the nearby island, Kvarner bay, U膷ka mountain in the West & some other parts of the city & the surrounding area...
The almost dry river Rje膷ina divides the town in 2 parts the ex-Italian part Italian called "Fiume" or in Croatian "Rijeka"& the Yugoslavian part called "Su拧ak". That is also the reason why there are 2 pears of the 2 harbors. Harbor of Su拧ak, in the upper left corner is less or almost not used at all & I don't know the reason why.
Here is so-called "Dead Channel" or "Mrtvi kanal" which is today used as a port for small private boats from the locals. This channel was the original delta of the river Rje膷ina. The new channel was dug out & the river was moved into it.

Just random buildings in the West that I found attractive motif to shoot together.
Some street art for the end of this episode. There are really brilliant murals made around the city during the time when Rijeka got the title of the European Capital Of Culture 2020. I will surely post this shot in color too!
