Some time ago, walking down the street where I usually do my shopping, I discovered something unusual, when pouring the cement to build the sidewalk, some joker, must have embedded a bottle, so when the work finally dried, there was a beautiful silhouette of a bottle that, when it rains, forms a puddle inside.
Once the photo was taken, I began to think about the use I would give it, and remembering the advertising of the famous brand of vodka, I began to investigate the typography used for the popular logo of the brand. When I found that I had the same typography in my computer I did not hesitate to recreate the image, without the slight change that the brand makes to the typography, and instead of using the name "vodka" I decided to add a traditional Venezuelan alcoholic beverage, the Miche, often branded as illegal because of its high alcohol content, to the composition.
Hace un tiempo, caminando por la calle donde usualmente hago las compras, descubrí algo insólito, al vaciar el cemento para construir la acera, algún gracioso, debió incrustar una botella, así cuando por fin secó la obra quedó una hermosa silueta de botella que, cuando llueve, se forma un charco en su interior.
Una vez tomada la foto, comencé a pensar en el uso que le daría, y al recordar la publicidad de la famosa marca de vodka, comencé a investigar la tipografía usada para el popular logotipo de la marca. Al encontrar que tenía la misma tipografía en mi computadora no dudé en recrear la imagen, sin el ligero cambio que la marca hace de la tipografía, y en lugar de utilizar la denominación "vodka" decidí agregar integrar a la composición una bebida alcohólica tradicional venezolana, el Miche, muchas veces tildada de ilegal por su alto grado de alcohol.
The Miche comes from the Andean zone of Venezuela, when drinking it the heat takes over the body, which makes it ideal to withstand the intense cold of the mountains of the paramo. Miche is as Venezuelan as Ron, or perhaps more so.
It is a clear drink, with an intense flavor.
Here I leave a tribute to the tradition of my country's distillery.
El Miche procede del la zona andina de Venezuela, al tomarla el calor se apodera del cuerpo, lo que la hace ideal para soportar el frío intenso de las montañas del páramo. El Miche es tan venezolano como el Ron, o quizás más.
Es una bebida clara, con un sabor intenso.
Aquí dejo un homenaje a la tradición de la destilería de mi país.
When I was preparing this post, I was debating between putting Miche or Cocuy (another traditional alcoholic beverage of Venezuela) but with which I feel more comfortable, not only for its taste, but for the absence of hangover when it is ingested, it has a high alcoholic content and is also produced by hand. I decided for the Miche, because it read more beautiful and with better rhythm than Cocuy, also for having more sympathy towards the Andean people, where I lived some years ago.
Cuando estaba preparando este post, me debatía entre colocar Miche o Cocuy (otra bebida alcohólica tradicional de Venezuela) pero con la que me siento mas a gusto, no solo por su sabor, sino por la ausencia de resaca cuando es ingerida, tiene un alto grado alcohólico y también se produce artesanalmente. Me decidí por el Miche, porque se leía mas bonito y con mejor ritmo que con Cocuy, también por tener más simpatía hacia el pueblo andino, donde viví hace algunos años.
