My mornings are usually spent on computer work. I enjoy my work and fee inspired in the mornings. After even just half an hour sitting down though, I must stretch my legs, rain or shine. Normally I take a walk, or a jog, around the garden or even venture to the creek.
Finally, the rain clouds parted and sunshine poked through. After a couple of days spent mostly indoors I was excited for a moment to bask in the sun.
All morning I had been doing indoor work, typing away on the computer, making meals, and cleaning the house. I had been eagerly awaiting the break from monotony and a bit of sunshine with which to frame pictures for my most recent post about the steps in my creative process.
As I set up the images atop of one of my floral print skirts (because the grass was still super wet) I noticed that there were tons of mums flowers around. I grabbed a handful of them and sprinkled them all about my artistic scene. The flowers were still moist, covered with rain drops from our first big storm of spring.
I wanted to capture a bit of that energy ~ fresh flowers after abundant rain fall. So I grabbed my collecting basket and gathered up not only mums but also ornamental lavender, wild sage leaves, roses, and a few sprigs of rosemary.
The flowers are drying now and once they are ready to I'll store them in a jar to keep on my bookshelf to remind me of the first rains of spring, all the flowers that burst forth, and this lovely break from work.
Okay, back to typing now! Have a lovely day everyone <3
