The days are lengthening and the sunshine has returned. There is so much to do on the homestead and land. Would you like to take a tour of what we have been up to?

This weekend started out by clearing a wall of vegetation that has been casting shade on our front yard. Full of dense ever greens this hedge row was successful in blocking wind but was blocking too much sun for my little garden of microgreens to prosper. Keep in mind that it is winter here now so ever bit of sunshine counts!

Friday my husband cut down most of the small trees and I started to clear up yesterday. All of the trees are invasives and the whole area very overcrowded. I have plans for having a flower garden here when spring arrives.

I was pleased to se that Tila the mare joined in. She likes to leaves of the siempre verde trees which is great for us all. Those are the fastest growing invasive trees in the area.

Between work sessions I took some time to plant new seeds in my microgreen garden. Now that there is much more sun here and the weather is warming up I am sure that the garden will grow more abundant. What is nice about microgreens is how quick it is to see the effects of changes in just a few days.
